Dr. Richard A. Holub started Imagicolor® in 1994. He is Past President of the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts, the premier organization representing the interests of the R&D community in the publishing and printing industries worldwide. He has served as a testifying expert in patent litigation and is a Registered Patent Agent. He has numerous publications including patents in the areas of color system architecture, networked image reproduction (including remote appraisal technologies) and color measurement instrumentation (including imaging colorimetry, spectral and hyperspectral imaging.)Prior to starting Imagicolor®, Dr. Holub was Principal Engineer at SuperMac Technologies in Sunnyvale, CA ('93-'94.) During the preceding three years, he was Technology Consultant for the CompuGraphic Division of Agfa/Bayer ('90-'93.) From '83-'90, he served as Chief Color Scientist for Eikonix Corporation which was acquired by Eastman Kodak Co. in 1985. Eikonix achieved the first commercial realization of digital, colorimetric, image reproduction, which provided a basis for many subsequent developments of contemporary "color management." His last full-time academic appointment was at Boston University, where he taught Computer Engineering and conducted research on biological and artificial vision systems. More recently he has served on the adjunct faculty at RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences.
